Delete your account

Last updated: 13 September 2026

In short. You can delete your HeyPlumi account from the app or by writing to us. You have 30 days to change your mind; after that, everything your account holds on our server is deleted, and that cannot be undone.

From the app

  1. Open HeyPlumi with the account you want to delete.
  2. Go to Settings → Account.
  3. Tap Delete account.

What happens next

  • Our server schedules the deletion for 30 days later. That window exists so one accidental tap does not wipe out years of vocabulary.
  • Straight away, the app signs you out on that phone, wipes all the account’s data from it — words, dictionaries, progress, profile, settings and search history — and returns to the welcome screen. Opening the app again does not cancel anything.
  • The deletion is only cancelled if you deliberately sign in again with the same Google or Apple account before the 30 days are up. In that case, the account stays as it was.
  • If the request does not reach our server — for example, because there is no connection — nothing is deleted anywhere, neither on the server nor on the phone, and the app tells you so. You can try again once you are back online.
  • After 30 days, an automatic process that runs every day permanently deletes from our server: your account (identifier, email and name), your profile (name, surname and date of birth), your languages and dictionaries, all your words with their senses, examples, synonyms and notes, your review progress and practice days, your settings, your devices and the technical sync history.
  • Database backups are kept for 7 days, so deleted data can remain in them for up to 7 more days, until they are replaced.

What is not deleted

  • A record that the deletion happened: an internal identifier and the dates of the request and of its execution. It does not include your email or your content.
  • Our shared dictionary and the anonymous count of words not found. Neither is linked to any person.
  • Your sign-in record at Auth0 (identifier, name and email). The automatic process does not delete it: if you want it gone too, tell us by email and we will remove it.
  • If you also had HeyPlumi on another phone, what is stored on that other phone is removed when you uninstall the app there. You can also revoke HeyPlumi’s access from your Google or Apple account settings.

Without the app

If you no longer have the app or cannot sign in, write to privacidad@heyplumi.app with the subject “Delete my HeyPlumi account”. Send it from your account’s email address — the Google or Apple address you signed in with — so we can check the account is yours. If you used Apple’s “Hide My Email”, also include the relay address Apple assigned you.

We follow the same process as in the app, with the same 30-day window, and reply within one month at most. You can use the same address to ask us to delete only part of your data, such as your date of birth.
